From service to stability - we’re walking this journey with you.

Veterans Support Services

At Smithson Valley Counseling Center, we understand that transitioning from military service to civilian life can be challenging and confusing. There are also challenges our service members and their families face related to their service, their deployments and their combat experiences – Our position is that you don’t have to face these challenges alone.

We understand that there are psychological issues that can feel overwhelming and may for some, contribute to patterns of self-medication or negative behaviors, that can create additional obstacles.

Our veteran support services are rooted in the belief that help is local, accessible, and personalized. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, seeking mental health support, struggling with adjustments post separation, or looking to connect with a community that understands your journey, we’re walking alongside you towards recovery and hope. From direct outreach and resource connections to community events and peer support, we’re proud to serve those who have served us with strength and honor.

We understand the journey can be difficult. The difference is that we are committed to being there for you, for your family. There are experiences we embrace and carry with us because of their meaning and positive impact. There also are experiences that need to be metabolized, given their place-- firmly anchored in the past. Thereby, SVCC Therapists goal is to come along side, to help you achieve recovery, rest and resolve. Our goal is to see every veteran free to remember what has been and is good; and free to move forward into rightfully earned peace and recovery.
